Call for Papers
Revista Liberia — Special Issue
Revista Liberia invites proposals for its forthcoming issue devoted to the theme of Transformation.
Transformation has long been a central motif in Hispanic literature and culture, shaping narratives of identity, migration, memory, and resistance. This special journal edition invites submissions that examine how writers, artists, and cultural producers across the Spanish‑speaking world represent processes of change—whether through linguistic innovation, political upheaval, diasporic reconfiguration, or aesthetic experimentation. We are especially interested in work that traces the dynamic interplay between tradition and reinvention, highlighting how transformation becomes both a creative strategy and a lived experience. Contributions may engage canonical texts, contemporary cultural production, transnational movements, or interdisciplinary approaches that illuminate shifting cultural landscapes. By gathering diverse perspectives, this edition aims to deepen our understanding of how transformation animates Hispanic cultural expression and continues to redefine its contours.
Within this framework, the humanities themselves can be understood as sustained through continuous processes of transformation. Their vitality depends on the capacity to generate new forms of scholarship — empirical as well as philosophical — that remain open to inclusive debate, restorative justice, and political empowerment. At a moment marked by global crises and shifting epistemological landscapes, regenerative approaches invite us to rethink both the methods and the purposes of humanistic inquiry.
Under the theme of Transformation, Revista Liberia welcomes contributions that engage with:
- critical explorations of contemporary societies and their transformations
- interdisciplinary reflections on cultures, identities, and cultural legacies
- renewed readings of historical processes and narratives
- innovative theoretical or methodological interventions in the humanities
- questions of sustainability, equity, and social renewal
- projects that envision new horizons for collaborative and public-facing scholarship
We encourage submissions that challenge established paradigms and that imagine the humanities as an active space for dialogue, reconstruction, and renewal. Through collective scholarly effort, we seek to deepen our understanding of present crises and contribute to more equitable and sustainable futures.
